What a game! I'm ecstatic! The atmosphere at the club where I watched this game was tense. It seems as if we were watching the Champions League Final. However, it was 'just' a Carling Cup match which happened to be against our 'beloved' neighbors Manchester City. No one could deny the fact that United have been superior to City in both legs. United didn't do anything special during today's first half however, apart from Tevez's header, we were rarely troubled. The second half was a different story though. United went straight for the kill and a late late goal by Rooney, who missed a sitter when United were 2 goals ahead, made sure United seal their place in the Carling Cup Final. The other scorers were Carrick and Scholes who finished superbly.

I had a gut feeling that United were going to get eliminated today. The 4-5-1 formation didn't help me change my mind either. However, Fergie was proven right once again as United came out on top. Rooney huffed and puffed up front because he was too isolated but Fergie insisted on a 5 player midfield and that, I believe, shut out City, who rarely troubled United. In fact City's only threatening shot on target ended at the back of the net.

Our defence did well today. Ferdinand, although at fault for City's goal, was strong and made some important tackles throughout the game. Nani had another excellent game on the right wing. Fergie must have one heck of a headache because of Nani's recent resurgence. It is evident that Nani is ineffective on the left wing while he does well on the right wing. Who(either Nani or Valencia) should Fergie play on the right wing vs Arsenal?! Scholes was the midfield maestro. His passing was excellent and he capped an excellent display with a good goal. Carrick and Fletcher were too quiet during the first half but were more effective and determined during the second. Overall it was a good team performance.

Anyway we are going to Wembley for the second year running and it's even sweeter because we are going to Wembley at the expense of City. Yep, Manchester City, the team most pundits were tipping to end United's dominance. Fat chance! Wembley, Wembley, We're the Famous MAN UNITED and we're going to WEMBLEY!
