United 4 - 1 Burton

Another four goals scored, can't really complain, can I? We scored another early goal today that must've thrown Burton's plan A out the window. It was obvious they'd come to Old Trafford and crowd the box to frustrate us but you can't really do that if you go down inside the first five minutes. I know that we were only playing a struggling Championship side but hey, I've seen United lose to MK Dons a couple of seasons ago so I am really pleased to see our players work hard to entertain and, over and above all, win.

Our forward players were excellent today. Mata played the game gracefully and Lingard scored a goal (it was an own goal really but he'll be claiming it) and created another one. Again, after last weekend's performance, I thought it was another good game from Lingard. Great to see Carrick back and he was involved in two of our goals. He never really had to break a sweat in midfield with Herrera. Our defence will face tougher tests but Lindelof is surely not ready for the Premier League. He put our defenders in trouble with some of his passing. Needs to improve.

Good to see Shaw back but he looked a tad heavy. Ok, he's coming back from a long injury layoff and he's definitely not match sharp but I expected him to try harder. He looks a long way off starting a PL game.

We had two players today who blew Burton apart: Rashford and Martial. Stunning performances from both players. I can't really decide who was the better of the two. Rashford got two goals, the second an excellent strike, and assisted Martial while our Frenchman scored one and created one. Martial was really in the mood as he dribbled past Burton's defenders for fun. He created some very good chances for himself but couldn't get another goal to his name. Excellent performance. It seems like this year we'll have at least three players who'll hit 20 goals. Last year we only had Ibra who scored more than 20 and our second top-scorer scored 11. That was Rashford. He had scored 5 goals by January 2017 last season. He's already scored 5 goals this season and we're still in September.

We were drawn away to Swansea in the next round of the League Cup. We could've gotten a better draw to be honest but anyway. Time to focus back on the Premier League. We're away to Southampton next. Tough one but it's difficult not to feel confident after seeing United play the way they are playing this season. 24 goals in 8 games....not bad, not bad at all.
