United 4 - 0 Everton

Looking at the scoreline, you'd think United destroyed Everton. In reality, Everton were still in the game 10 minutes before the end of the match. They should've probably been drawing after creating two good chances which were saved by De Gea.

We started the game brightly; Valencia scored an absolute stunner and Everton couldn't get close to our players. I immediately thought we'd win the game with a big score today. Everton are in dismal form at the moment and they had to play in Italy last Thursday. We did indeed win by a big scoreline but the game was definitely not a 4-0 game. Everton started to play better after the 20th minute and I thought they were the better team during the second half. Perhaps that Italy game last Thursday did have an impact on Everton's players as they just crumbled after the 80th minute.

DDG had a great game and so did our back four. Matic and Fellaini looked solid but we did miss Pogba. He's a ball player who wants the ball all the time and he does create some very good chances. You cannot really compare Fellaini (who got in the team instead of the injured Pogba) with our French midfielder. As different as cheese and chalk but both do an excellent job in the middle of the park.

I was a bit disappointed with Rashford, Mata and Mkhitaryan(despite scoring!). Thought they could've done better today. Lukaku missed an absolute sitter in the first half. If he scored that, I would have been able to actually enjoy the game. Thankfully, our players did manage to put the game to bed and give us fans a relaxing 10 minutes. Was a bit angry at Lukaku but he made an assist and scored late in the game so I won't complain.

Substitute Lingard worked really hard. I thought he did well. Martial played for 5 minutes, made Everton concede a penalty and scored from the spot.

A flattering result but this is a game we would've drawn last season. Everton looked like equalising up until the 80th minute but instead we won 4-0. We must be extra careful against teams with better finishers though. Burton next in the League Cup. Time to see Carrick and the lads who can't a game, play and show us their worth. Come on United!
