Man City 0 - 1 United

VDS
Rafael Rio Vida Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Fletcher Park(O'Shea)
Berbatov(Giggs) Rooney

A great performance by the red devils which was nearly ruined by 2 moments of lunacy from Cristiano Ronaldo, which earned him 2 yellow cards and an early bath. United started brightly and missed a couple of good opportunities but at the end of the half Rooney notched his 100th club goal in his career. A goal which is arguably the easiest he has ever scored. His celebrations that followed would put a smile on any United fan.

Finally Fergie showed his believe in Rafael and got rewarded with an excellent performance from the young Brazilian. The other defenders were solid once again to record the 5th straight cleansheet in all competitions. Carrick was in my opinion the best player on the pitch, excellent passer of the ball. Rooney justified his inclusion in Nike's 'Put It Where You Want It' campaign when his shot from the half way line was saved superbly by Hart.

Next match is vs Blackburn in the Carling Cup quarter final. I don't care if some people mock this cup competition, I just want United to win.

Hey Utd Till I Die,

Pretty catchy blog name.:)

Rooney finish was a striker's finish. Credit to him for being at the right place at the right time.

Ronaldo's sending off was the stupidest thing ever. Dimwit ref.

And I totally agree with Carrick's outstanding contribution. His penetrative passes kept City on the backfoot long enough for the Reds to see them off.
