United 2 - 0 Huddersfield

First goal for Alexis
The starting line-up was very surprising, never expected Mourinho to drop the players he dropped today…especially Paul Pogba. At first I thought that what he did was somewhat risky but I admired him for showing some of our big players that if they don’t perform they’ll find themselves on the bench.
On second thoughts, I think what he did was a bit of a hasty decision or an overreaction as the likes of Pogba, Martial and Jones have arguably been our best three players this year. Was he giving them a message or were the three used to give others a message? Lukaku had several stinkers, yet he keeps starting games and so has Matic. I am not saying they should be dropped but am only trying to explain why Mourinho’s decision might have been a bit of an overreaction to last Wednesday’s game.
Anyway, I liked how United played today. Some of our attacking play was great to watch and very exciting. Alexis was definitely our best player and deserved his goal. He did give the ball away a lot but that’s because he tries risky passes. He won us a penalty, missed and then scored the rebound. A good home debut in my opinion.  There was an instance when he dribbled past three players and hit shot from outside the box was superbly saved by Huddersfield’s keeper. This guy will make the difference in games when we struggle to break down opponents. Our players should also practice a lot of free kicks because Alexis will win us a lot of them.
Our first goal was superbly worked and finished by Lukaku. Mata, providing the assist, was excellent today. I had dismissed Juan on the arrival of Alexis but he’s since signed a new contract and had a great performance today. He’s obviously a great ball player but he’s too slow for my liking. A good player to have nonetheless.
With City dropping two points, I think we are back in with a chance of winning the league………hah, only taking the piss obviously. Hopefully Liverpool drop points against Tottenham so we keep a bit of a breather between us.
