United 4 - 1 Newcastle

Ahhh that was a great performance. We haven't seen such football since Pogba's last game and God how pleased I am to see him back again. We had a shaky start to the game as our defence was found wandering and Newcastle scored early on. Newcastle did have another chance or two but I felt that we were playing good football, good enough to get us back in the game and win it.

Pogba was fantastic and his excellence brushed onto his team mates. That's what world class players do and our Paul is no doubt a world class footballer. The way he toyed with Newcastle's defence to set up Martial for our first goal was a joy to watch. Young, who had a great game, provided yet another assist that was finished by Smalling. There was no doubt about the result from then on as I enjoyed every second of the game. It had been a while.

Pogba scored our third but the goal was all about Marcus Rashford who sprinted from the halfway line to the box and headed Lukaku's cross into Pogba's path who finished easily. Lukaku then ended his goal drought after a fine move with Mata.

There's no doubt that Manchester United is a different side with Pogba in it. You definitely cannot replace Pogba's creativity with Herrera, or Fellaini for that matter. It's a bit of a worry as we cannot have a fully fit Pogba every week but I am glad he's back. Perhaps the only negative today, apart from conceding our first league goal at home since April, was to see our defenders looking a bit shaky. Smalling does not look comfortable playing next to Lindelof. It was great to see Ibrahimovic back and oozing confidence. I don't think he should be starting games, even when he's fully fit, but I think he'll come in handy.

Basel next. More of the same, please.
