United 2 - 0 Leicester City

Mourinho said we cannot win 4-0 every week but we could have easily scored another four today. I thought that was another very good performance by United. Just like West Ham and Swansea, Leicester were set out to frustrate us and hit us on the counter. Unlike West Ham and Swansea, Leicester's forward line is very good so I was eager to see how our defenders fare. In my opinion Bailly and Jones were excellent. Jones was my man of the match. Hopefully he can stay injury-free. He's rediscovered the form that  brought him to United.

I thought we were going to score during the first half as we looked too good for Leicester and Mata did score but the goal was rightly ruled out for offside. Leicester kept defending brilliantly until we got a penalty on the hour mark. Lukaku stepped up and missed. Last year I would have given up on my team scoring but the feeling this year is different. You just get the hunch United will score at a point or another. It is no surprise that we scored just when Leicester started trying to attack. At 0-0 Gray and Mahrez should have probably put Leicester 1-0 but the former delayed his pass and Jones managed to cover for Blind. A few minutes later substitute Rashford scored from a Mkhitaryan corner and the game was put to bed by Fellaini 10 minutes later. Mourinho must feel on top of the world after all three substitutes combined to score today's goals. His subs also affected our first two games.

My only disappointment today was our poor crossing. We managed to play the ball so well but Blind and mostly Valencia were quite poor when trying to cross. Valencia isn't a ball player but I still expect better delivery from him after managing to get in so many good crossing positions. As for the other players, Pogba and Matic were solid. Mata had a very good first half but faded. Martial deserved to start today and will keep his place based on that performance. De Gea had a quiet afternoon but made a very good save right at the death and kept his 3rd PL clean sheet this season.

Unfortunately we will have to wait a fortnight until we see United again. 3 games, 10 goals, 3 clean sheets....top of the league. Something tells me that I'm into something good....
