United 1 - 0 Villa

Ok, this is going to be a quick post because I am currently super busy with work duties as well as University assignments.

I am writing this on Sunday evening, just after Arsenal’s game vs. palace. There is still some hope that we might get into the top four. Not because we’re playing brilliant football but simply because Arsenal seem to be in a free-fall. If we will get in the top four, we're leapfrogging Arsenal and not City.

Last week I was looking forward for this weekend’s football because I expected City to drop points vs. Chelsea and us to win comfortably against Villa. I was wrong though. City demolished Chelsea in a very impressive performance and we did not really win comfortably. In fact, we can count ourselves lucky to not drop two points as Villa hit the post right at the death. We had so much possession but, as always, we were very poor in the final third. Thankfully, Arsenal gave us a lifeline as they drew against Palace and we’re now four points off them. Will we get in the Champions League? Probably not but it won’t hurt to dream. If we manage to win the FA Cup and also get ourselves in next season’s CL campaign, then we would have managed to save a miserable season.

Rashford scored our winner after a terrific 50-yard ball from Rooney found Valencia who crossed to our Marcus and the latter scored his 7th of the season. Not the best of finishes, I thought Villa’s keeper should have done better but it’ll do.

Palace next and then Everton await for our biggest game this season. Come on United!
