Portsmouth 1 - 4 United

Hands up if you think Rooney will slot the ball home

After a boring first half during which United looked shaky, the Red Devils managed to pick themselves up and beat a spirited Portsmouth side desperate to imptess the new manager. Rooney got a hat-trick, Giggs scored his 100th career league goal, while Valencia put in a man of match performance. Antonio's sheer determination and speed put Pompey into all kinds of trouble today.

In my opinion all players played quite well, yes, even Gazza, but an inexistent penalty brought Pompey back into the match and that was a real morale booster for the home side. However during the second half United destroyed Portsmouth with some excellent touches, speed and three goals. Kuzschak made a couple of excelletn saves and this supports my firm belief that our Pole in goal is better than Foster.

There was no joy for Avram Grant and he must be really sick of Man Utd and penalties. However the best team got the three points today. Rooney, takes the match ball, but Giggs, Valencia and Kuszchak were outstanding too. Well done United, roll on next Tuesday.
