United 2 - 1 Arsenal

VDS
Brown Rio Pique Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Hargreaves Scholes Park
Rooney
This was a hard earned win against an Arsenal side willing to salvage something from this season. To be fair to the Arsenal fans, it's a little bit unfair for Wengers team to come out of Old Trafford empty handed, but I guess that's the beauty of football. After this match I can certainly see the beautiful side of it.

Arsenal attacked relentlessly while United operated on the counter attack. Uniteds attacking threat looked more threatening than that of Arsenal and I guess that was the main difference between the two teams today. Had Arsenal been more focused and lethal, they could have scored on several occasions.

Apart from the scrappy goal Arsenal scored, a goal which VDS should have dealt with easily, the only threatening shots on VDS's goal were made by Rio and Brown. They should be grateful VDS was on his toes and spared their blushes. Meanwhile United scored a penalty by Ronaldo and a superb freekick by Hargreaves. Ronaldo should make way for our new freekick king. Hargreaves.

It wasn't the best of performances by United but I guess that's the hallmark of champions. You win games without playing well. The two subs Tevez and Anderson ignited United's attacking flair and the match was set alight once they got on the pitch. IMO Scholes had a poor match today, he gave away the ball quite often while Ronaldo wasn't at his best either.

Anyway our next match is vs Blackburn away from home. Will be difficult, very difficult, but I hope United get out of the Stadium with 3 points. If this happens it would be one huge step towards defending our title.

Ratings- VDS-7, Brown-7, Rio-8, Pique-7, Evra-7, Ronaldo-6, Hargreaves-8, Scholes-6, Carrick-7, Park-7, Rooney-7. ( Anderson-7, Tevez-7, Giggs-6)
