Yeovil Town 0 - 4 United

An easy game really. We had a scare or two during the first thirty minutes but United were in control from then on. It must’ve been a tad difficult for our overly pampered players to play on that pitch so I guess our slow start to the game was just our players getting used to the playing conditions. It was either that or the Yeovil players were really pumped up for their big day.

Our first goal was down to a mistake from one of their defenders and Rashford took his chance well. Herrera scored our second as Lingard and Lukaku scored late on to make it 4. Lingard scored another excellent goal. He doesn’t do tap-ins, does he?

We also finally got to see our new man in action and he definitely didn’t disappoint. I don’t really watch a lot of football nowadays, it’s just Manchester United, so I don’t think I’ve seen Alexis play a lot of times. What I expected from him was to run at defenders and try a risky pass or two. He did just that. He did give the ball away a few times, but that’s what happens when you try to be adventurous; it cannot work all the time. Hopefully we’ll see Alexis play on the right side as I don’t think Martial deserves to be on the bench, especially at the moment. How exciting is it to have Martial – Lingard – Alexis, with Marcus Rashford on the bench ready to take his chance!

Although I am not his biggest fan, I think Mourinho is really creating something good here. All we need now is to get rid of our under-performers or players who aren’t fit to wear United’s red. Darmian is one of them. You cannot be a Manchester United player if you can’t deal with a League Two winger. Darmian had a poor game today. Thank God we have Antonio on the right. Young is also probably a better right full-back than Darmian. Lindelof and Rojo didn’t cover themselves in much glory today either but, after I had given up on him, Rojo was excellent last season and I think Lindelof will eventually come good. They’re nowhere near as good as Jones though, our best central defender.

Great to see Michael Carrick back. Coolest head on the pitch. Also good to see Mc Tominay given another chance, didn't do much wrong in my opinion. Somehow he reminds me of Darren Fletcher. Not sure if its the way he plays or how he looks though haha. Such games also give us the opportunity to see a glimpse of the future and I think we saw just that in Angel Gomez's late cameo. He certainly looks like a player oozing confidence but needs to take things step-by-step, develop further, and probably grow a few inches taller hah!

Spurs at Wembley next.
