England 1 - 4 Germany

That scoreline hurts. It hurts a lot. I don't think England played that bad today. We had more shots, more possesion but defenitely less luck than the Germans. We hit the bar twice and even had a clear goal disallowed. If Lampard's effort was rightly allowed it would have definitely been a different game. Anybody who plays football knows that at going in for the half time break 2-2, after trailing by two goals, is one heck of a boost. Thanks to that stupid linesman and Blatter, who refuses to introduce goal line technology, I will keep asking myself "what if?" for the next couple of weeks. Germany's goals could have been avoided, however, I must admit, they are really good at counter attacking. I will refuse to state that Germany were better than us though.
Anyway another dream of triumphing in a world cup has just died. The next world cup will be held in Brazil and I think everybody knows who'll be the eventual winners. We've got the Euro qualifiers to look forward to but nothing can heal the pain incurred by looking at today's scoreline.
I still love England. I will support England till I die.

England 1 - 0 Slovenia

Ahhh thank God we are through!!! England were exceptional today, the passing was brilliant and the defenders didn't put a foot wrong. Rooney was back to his usual self with some amazing link up plays with the impressive Gerrard, while Terry was a beast at the back. He made me change my opinion about him, maybe he's not much of a cunt after all! I'll probably eat my words when the Premier League season starts though! Milner was another one who stood out today, well played!

Overall I'm quite happy. We will now face either Serbia, Germany or Ghana. I don't think Australia will score more than 3 goals tonight so they'll probably have to book a flight back home tomorrow. Germany are obviously regarded as a stronger team than the others. We'll just have to wait and see who we will face!

England 0 - 0 Algeria

England didn't deserve to win and, well, they didn't. Our players played like crap during the whole 90 minutes. Yes, even my favourite player, Wayne Rooney, played like an amateur. The players certainly don't look like they give a damn about the shirt they're wearing. It's either that or these players are crumbling under the pressure.

I thought England played well vs USA but yesterday's game was an absolute horror show. A real heart tester. I just can't understand what happened to these players. 6 months ago they looked unbeatable. I actually thought we had a decent chance to win the World Cup, but now we are risking not making it through the group stage.

Our next match is vs Slovenia. It's a MUST WIN, and yes, I still believe in our Lions, even though they looked like kittens vs Algeria. COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

England 1 -1 USA

England scored barely 5 minutes into the game but failed to add another goal even though we dominated the 2nd half. Whenever England score early I fear the worst. Remember England vs Portugal Euro 2004? England vs Portugal Euro 2000? England vs Brazil World Cup 2002? Vs Croatia in 2007? Everyone knows what happened in those games!

To be honest with you I had a gut feeling that this game will end in a 1-1 draw. In fact I told my mate that it will probably end in a draw, so yeah, I should have bet a fiver on that score. Before the match I also spoke with Silvio about our goalkeeping problems but I did not foresee the howler by Robert Green. That, at this level, is simply unacceptable. I feel for Green, he seems to be a decent bloke but this match will most probably be his last match in this World Cup.

It wasn't a great result but it wasn't terrible either. Some think that a 1-1 draw is a just score but I think England were the better team especially in the second half. We missed a couple of decent chances. Heskey missed a very good chance while Rooney played well but was only threatening, in front of goal, once. In my opinion Liverpool's Steven Gerrard was the best England player on the pitch.

The hype built by the media is probably one of the reasons why most people are disappointed with the result. However, I'm not too worried. Remember that the USA drew 1-1 with eventual winners Italy in the 2006 World Cup group stages! So yes, there is still hope. The thing that is worrying me is our ever growing injury list. King will probably miss the next match and Milner is sick. Anyway England's next game is vs Algeria. I expect a win, but with England you never know!

Fifa World Cup 2010

I love the England national team. I remember back in 1998 I watched an England game and the starting XI featured a lot of Man Utd players such as Scholes, Beckham & the Neville Brothers and I guess one of the main reasons I support Manchester United is the English national team.
I turned into a Man Utd maniac at the beginning of the 1998-1999 season. That's the year I went football mad and it's probably because I was fascinated by the "beautiful game" when I watched the FIFA World Cup 1998. Thats the first World Cup I ever experienced (the first world cup I can remember), thankfully I was too young to bother when England experienced the heartbreak of not qualifying for the 1994 World Cup. After that World Cup I purchased my first PC video game(which was Fifa World Cup 98) and I even joined a local football team. I started to breath, eat and speak football...and I still do.

The world cup is an amazing event. Suddenly, when the world cup starts, my flat becomes a dreamland. I can stay relaxed, in front of my TV, and watch football all day long while I enjoy a pint of ice cold beer! That, for people who LOVE football, is heaven. 3 games per day is one heck of a treat! But obviously all good things have the dark side. I experience the dark side of the World Cup whenever England play. The tension I feel before and during each England game is as if my life depended on England, and that's not something enjoyable. England always seem to disappoint. They, unlike Man Utd, have never given me any reason to cheer, except maybe in the Qualifying stages when they always seem to skip every hurdle without much effort(I am excluding the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign which was a disaster).

About a week ago, just before England played Mexico, I was a tad optimistic about England's chances. However, when I saw England take on Mexico and Japan my optimism soon vanished with every passing second of the two games. Vs Mexico we didn't do that well and vs Japan, well, it was a horror show! Playing like that will probably give the same output that the English team has given ever since 1966 i.e. early elimination. With the likes of Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Rio, Terry and a host of other stars I just can't phantom how on earth England still play like crap. I just hope that Capello manages to make them play some decent football during the World Cup.So let's hope England do well and bring the cup back home and let's hope I survive the world cup, because believe me, I don't think that my heart can take it if England play like they did last Sunday. C'mon ENGLAND!

N.b If England miss out on the world cup, I just hope that Italy don't win it.
