Chelsea 2 - 1 United

VDS
Brown Rio Vidic Silvestre
Nani Fletcher Carrick Anderson Giggs
Rooney

Another game in which United preferred to play defensively until conceding a goal. The first half performance by United was poor, very poor. They lacked creativity and the only team that looked like scoring was Chelsea. And indeed that is what they did. The reaction from United in the second half was acceptable. United tried to score the leveller and did that through Wayne Rooney. Although he was in some distress he still managed to sprint towards the Chelsea goal and score what could have been a very important goal. That's why I like Rooney, he gives his all to the team, although he was injured. The game looked destined for a 1-1 result but Carrick handled the ball in the penalty area, according to the ref, and from the penalty Chelsea scored the winning goal.

United could have scored twice but had the efforts cleared off the line by Cole and Shevchenko repectively. The latter's clearance must be his highlight of his career in a Chelsea shirt. Anyway we were unlucky not to get something out of this game.

I was quite surprised when I saw the starting XI. These weren't the best XI Fergie could have picked. I don't know why he did not play Tevez and Ronaldo. They're young, I don't think they would mind playing 2 games in a week. Silvestre who started instead of Evra had a great game and Fletcher performed well too. The biggest disappointment was Nani who never really got going.

Alex Ferguson's tactics might cost us the league. We could have secured the league at Stamford Bridge but failed to do so. Now United must win their remaining matches against Wigan and West Ham. Although they might be two of the lesser teams, I'm not confident United could win both of the matches. Wigan have drawn against Chelsea and Arsenal and it's been almost 2 years since we last won against West Ham. Anyway I just hope we get the six points and Fergie quits messing around with the tactics and plays the best XI from the first minute.

Next match vs Barca at OT. We could win, only if Fergie lets United play the United Way.

Come On United!!!!!
