Fulham 2 - 0 United

O'Shea(Tevez) Rio Evans Evra
Ronaldo Scholes(s/o) Fletcher Park
Berbatov(Rooney(s/o)) Ronaldo

Well, what can I say? This is simply unbelievable. 8 days ago we were sitting comfortably at the top of the table laughing arrogantly at our title challengers with points to spare. Today we are still at the top of the table but our lead of 10 points could be cut to just 1 point. Of course, we still have that massive game in hand. Just as my friend pointed out, I guess it's our arrogance that brought us to this state. We thought we were unbeatable, heading for a quintuple, but Liverpool and Fulham have taught us a harsh lesson. We just cannot slip again and bearing in mind that we have to play Aston Villa, Arsenal, Man City and M'Boro I think that another slip is highly likely.

Dimitar Berbatov, who was absolutely useless during the 45 should have headed United in front from Cristiano Ronaldo's fifth-minute cross. And he was made to pay after Scholes was dismissed for a blatent handball and Murphy scored from the spot. To be honest, Fulham outplayed United in the first half and we never looked like scoring. The second half was a different story, In comes Rooney for Berbatov and he single handedly manages to change the game. We were unlucky not to score, their goalie was performing miracles. Gera scored their second goal against the run of play. Game over. To add insult to injury Rooney was sent off for throwing the ball violently. I don't agree with the Ref's decision, Rooney's intention was to hurry the game up.

Thankfully Chelsea lost their game vs Tottenham but my main concern is Liverpool. We just can't give them OUR title.

United 1 - 4 Liverpool

O'Shea Rio Vidic(s/o) Evra
Ronaldo Carrick(Scholes) Anderson(Berbatov) Park (Giggs)
Rooney Tevez

A shameful result, a shameful defensive display and overall a big kick up our backside. United scored the first goal thanks to a Ronaldo penalty but our jubilation was brought to an abrupt end after an unlikely Vidic mistake. Liverpool then got the second after Evra fouled Gerrard in the box and the ref correctly ordered a penalty. Vidic was eventually sent off and Liverpool scored another 2.

All goals came after poor decisions by our back 4. Vidic had a game from hell. The only player that looked like wanting to win and tried to do something was Ji Sung Park. He ran his socks off but to no avail. As I'm writing this, the United players may be experiencing one of Fergie's hair dryer treatments and they deserve it! Although, at times, United literally out shone Liverpool.

Anyway we will still win the League, I've got no doubts about that. The only difference is that Liverpool have earned the bragging rights. A 4-1 win at OT is definitely something to be proud of, they will keep mentioning this win for years to come but at the end of the season they'll have to live with the fact that United have equalled their 'Champions of England' record while trying to bear the smirk on the face of the United fans. I still believe...

United 2 - 0 Inter

O'Shea Rio Vida Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Scholes(Anderson) Giggs
Rooney(Park) Berbatov
United didn’t play very well at times. True. But we’re in the quarter finals of the Champions League, so who the hell cares! Two goals 4 minutes into the 1st and 2nd half respectively humbled Mourinho’s Inter. With the shouts of “F*** Off Mourinho” probably still ringing in his ears, the Inter coach had to admit that United are simply “the best” in his post match comments.

Vidic and Ronaldo took their chances well while O’Shea and Berba could have added another two. They should have! On the other hand I must admit, Inter were a tad unlucky when they hit the post twice, but hey, that’s football! (These are the words uttered by the same Inter fans whenever I said United were unlucky not to score at San Siro)

Giggs, Vidic and at times Rooney were once again exceptional. Giggs looked like a teenager full of energy mocking the Inter defence with mazy runs, Vidic put Ibrahamovic in his back pocket and Rooney worked tirelessly and created a goal.

The best team in Italy had to bow out of Old Trafford with a 2 nil loss. All English teams won against the Italians. The English football league is definitely far superior to the Italian league and while I have been amazed by Liverpool’s humbling of Real Madrid, I still believe that our only hurdle to winning the Champions League is Barcelona.

Now, just as the great Wayne Rooney said, “Let’s end the Scousers title dream next Saturday” ….AMEN TO THAT!

Fulham 0 - 4 United

O'Shea Rio(Evans) Vidic Evra
Fletcher Carrick Anderson Park
Rooney(Welbeck) Tevez

We're through to the Semi Final of the FA Cup! A thrilling encounter and overall a breath taking performance from our Red Devils ensured this. Tevez was on fire and so was Rooney. The Argentine ace hit the first two goals — the second a stunner — before Wayne Rooney and Park Ji Sung made it a romp with two well taken goals.

United are defenitely hitting top form at the right time. No matter who comes in the team, he's doing well. I'm over the moon, this has got to be the best squad United have had since my ignition of interest in Man Utd back in '97. Park, Rooney and Tevez were massive today. I believe the former two will start the match vs Inter but Tevez will lose out to Berbatov. Tevez deserves to start, it is obvious that United are better with Rooney and Tevez up front. Well Fergie could always unleash the trio vs Inter! What if they all play? And Tevez is given a chance to run his socks off in midfield? Well I guess it would be too risky.

The only downside to the thrilling cup win was an ankle injury to Ferdinand who faces a race to be fit for the Inter clash. Meanwhile the Inter game looms large, a couple of years ready to be shaved off my life.

Newcastle 1 - 2 United

O'Shea Rio Vidic Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Fletcher Park
Rooney Berbatov(Giggs)

Everybody seems to be saying how lucky Man Utd are. I can’t understand why people make such statements! Yes, it’s true, Newcastle did give United an easy goal but so did we! Newcastle started the game on a high, they have surely upped their game for this match otherwise if they played like this week in week out, they wouldn’t be at the bottom end of the table. United who trailed the Barcodes for a couple of minutes scored through Rooney and Berbatov. Rooney’s goal was cracking. This was his 3rd Premier League goal in 3 appearances since his return from injury.

My men of the match were Park and Rooney. They both ran their socks off, Rooney scored one and created the other, Park crossed to Berba for the second goal. Newcastle should count themselves lucky because Taylor committed a disgraceful foul on Ronaldo yet the Ref only showed him a yellow card. By the way, Van Der Sar is human afterall! All those who watched the match know why I'm saying this.

Anyway, our 7 point lead is restored and we still have a game in head. Things are definitely looking promising! Next match vs Fulham FA Cup.

Carling Cup Winners

Man of the match: Ben Foster made several spectacular saves throughout the match.
Moment of the match: Anderson's winning penalty meant Manchester United secured the Carling Cup.
Attempt of the match Cristiano Ronaldo's powerful effort at the end of normal time struck the left hand post of Heurelho Gomes' goal.
Save of the match: Ben Foster saved Jamie O'Hara's spot-kick to set Manchester United on their way to glory. Talking Point: Can Manchester United now go on and win the quintuple?UNITED CARLING CUP WINNERS

United 0-0 Tottenham (4-1 on penalties)

O'Shea(Vidic) Ferdinand Evans Evra
Ronaldo Scholes Gibson(Giggs) Nani
Welbeck(Anderson) Tevez

Some may say that ‘it’s just the Carling Cup’ others nicknamed it the Mickey mouse cup but a trophy is a trophy and I’m glad United won it. Once again my heart was heavily tested with some nail biting moments and of course the dreaded penalty shootout. I’m thinking about omitting the dreaded part whenever I mention ‘penalty shootout’ because we have won 4 trophies in the last 2 seasons thanks to the penalties. So yes, unless I’m speaking about England I won’t say ‘dreaded’ before mentioning the penalty shootout. Amen.

Now, the game was well balanced although United did have the best of chances and were unlucky to hit the post through Ronaldo. Nani managed to make me furious a couple of times while the close ups of Rooney on the sidelines getting himself into the game brought a smile to my face. At the end of the day Ben Foster was our hero with some excellent saves during the game and an outstanding penalty stop. He will be a great replacement of the great Van der Sar whenever he decides to quit football.

2 trophies down and 3 to go, the league seems to be in our hands. Our next match is vs Newcastle at St James Park, a 2 – 0 win? We’ll see.
