United didn’t play very well at times. True. But we’re in the quarter finals of the Champions League, so who the hell cares! Two goals 4 minutes into the 1st and 2nd half respectively humbled Mourinho’s Inter. With the shouts of “F*** Off Mourinho” probably still ringing in his ears, the Inter coach had to admit that United are simply “the best” in his post match comments.

Vidic and Ronaldo took their chances well while O’Shea and Berba could have added another two. They should have! On the other hand I must admit, Inter were a tad unlucky when they hit the post twice, but hey, that’s football! (These are the words uttered by the same Inter fans whenever I said United were unlucky not to score at San Siro)

Giggs, Vidic and at times Rooney were once again exceptional. Giggs looked like a teenager full of energy mocking the Inter defence with mazy runs, Vidic put Ibrahamovic in his back pocket and Rooney worked tirelessly and created a goal.

The best team in Italy had to bow out of Old Trafford with a 2 nil loss. All English teams won against the Italians. The English football league is definitely far superior to the Italian league and while I have been amazed by Liverpool’s humbling of Real Madrid, I still believe that our only hurdle to winning the Champions League is Barcelona.

Now, just as the great Wayne Rooney said, “Let’s end the Scousers title dream next Saturday” ….AMEN TO THAT!
