The scoreline suggests it was quite a straightforward game but in reality St Etienne matched us for 70 minutes or so and had a few good chances to score. Thankfully they left their shooting boots in France. We only looked comfortable during the final 20 minutes as our players started toying with St. Etienne's tired players. Ibrahimovic got his first Manchester United hat-trick but for me Martial was the man of the match once again. He was devastating on the left, I'm sure St Etienne's right-back will have nightmares about our own Frenchman. Excellent display.
We looked a bit disjointed during the first half. Perhaps the inclusion of Fellaini disrupted our team a bit as we wanted to attack today and, at least for me, Fellaini's a defensive midfielder. We looked much better during the second half and the introduction of Rashford gave us that something extra that we needed to kill off the French side. He did really well to create our second goal.
Scoring 3 goals today will mean that Mourinho will probably play our second team on Wednesday in the return leg. No matter who plays, even if United's youth team plays, we can't lose by three goals so we've almost got two feet in the round of 16.
FA Cup next. Come on United!
