Young Boys 0 - 3 United

So that's another good away performance on a pretty difficult plastic surface. Until our players got used to this surface, there was a slip here and there but those were the only stumbles in an otherwise easy night. Pogba was the man of the match with two goals, one of them a beauty, and an assist. It's also great to see Martial get his name on the scoresheet. It's been ages since he last scored - the 21st January 2018 to be precise. Hopefully this goal can kick off his season. His first half performance wasn't that good but I thought he did well after the break.

It's also good to finally see Dalot play. He definitely didn't look like a player making his big Man Utd debut. Dalot oozed confidence going forward and also looked competent when defending. He must face tougher opposition before we can start getting excited about this guy. On the other side, Shaw returned to the side with another solid performance. He was unlucky not to have an assist to his name after crossing to Rashford, who hit the post, and also powering in a cross to Mata who missed by a few inches. One of Shaw's crosses did win us a very dubious penalty which was duly converted by Pogba late in the first half.

Smalling was good but Lindelof seemed like he was lacking confidence, especially at the beginning of the game. Matic was efficient but Fred was poor. Lukaku didn't see much of the ball up front, that must've been a very frustrating game for him. Substitute Fellaini came into the game looking like he owned the pitch bullying Young Boys' players off the ball.

This was the start we needed in this tough group as probably both Juventus and Valencia will win all points at stake vs this Swiss side. We just didn't afford to drop any points today. Hopefully we'll be able to win all our home games and that would see us through but both Valencia and especially Juventus possess great quality in their sides.

It's Wolves next. A winnable game but we've got to be wary of Wolves' qualities. They've won 8 points from a possible 15 and they should definitely not be taken lightly. I've watched their game vs. City (they drew 1-1) and they looked quite comfortable in possession. In Matic's abesence, we'll probably see Fellaini start the game with Pogba and Lingard in midfield. They'll have to be on top of their game and make sure that Moutinho and Neves do not see much of the ball. Those two players look like proper midfielders.

Come on United!
