WBA 1 - 2 United

United had an excellent first half today. Played some good football and looked comfortable throughout. Lukaku scored yet another excellent header and Lingard scored his seventh goal of the season after a heavy deflection from WBA's defender. Jesse will most definitely go into double figures this year, an excellent return for a midfielder. He' getting the goals that Mata used to score. Juan has only scored once this season, he's scored 10 in each of his full seasons at United.

Anyway, we were cruising during the first half and looked quite comfortable during the majority of the second but something happened after the 70th minute and WBA were suddenly all over us. We were being dominated in midfield and our defenders were looking hesitant when the Baggies attacked. We should have cruised to a big victory but instead were hanging on to our one-goal lead. There were a couple of moments that made my heart skip a beat or two but we managed to win the three points. 

Bristol City next in the League Cup. That's probably one of two cups that we've got a realistic chance of winning. Great to have Pogba back for the festive season. He's a player that we miss dearly when he's out of the squad....unfortunately he's been out too often this season.
