United 1 - 1 Everton

DDG
Young(Shaw) Bailly Rojo Blind(Pogba)
Fellaini Carrick(Mhiki)
Lingard Herrera Rashford
Ibra

We drew at home. What a surprise! Thankfully we did not lose the match and managed to win a point right at the death. Although our players looked like they were trying hard, especially during the second half, I thought that our football was quite poor. Despite this, we had a legitimate goal ruled out for offside and hit the crossbar twice. Their goalie also had a very good game....another great surprise there!

We conceded a goal early on when Fellaini lost his man and Rojo was afraid to put his head in and instead let Jagielka score a rather fortunate goal. From then on our defenders did well but we looked blunt up front. Rashford works hard but in front of goal he look half the player he was last season. Ibra had a golden opportunity during the first half but hesitated before shooting and let Everton's defender recover.  Then we had tens of crosses into the box but most of them didn't find any of our forward players. Reminded me of Moyes' season with us; a lot of crosses but no end product.

Herrera was probably our best player today but he was the best of a very bad bunch. We looked like losing the first game since October but managed to save a point when we were justly awarded a penalty. Ibra finished well but in reality it is yet another disappointing result.

If you follow my blog regularly, you should know that I've given up on getting into the top 4. We can barely win a game at home against inferior sides so I can't really see us winning away to better sides. We're unbeaten in 20 league games but 10 of those games were drawn and that's a really bad statistic. I wasn't very keen on seeing Mourinho come to United but, despite all the bad results, we must stick by him because changing our manager every season will not solve anything. I'll live in hope that next season we'll be better. I now know what it feels like to be a Liverpool supporter. Sunderland away next.
