Well, that wasn't a good performance. You'd expect to drop points away to City, so last weeks defeat didn't bother me much, but today's loss caught me by surprise. We were poor overall and I thought Moyes made some tactical errors but, I guess, he's still experimenting with the team. Over and above all, it's obvious that Anderson has no place in this team. He gave the ball away too much and a very quiet Carrick couldn't help cover for Anderson's mistakes. So there's another player, along with Young, who shouldn't be in the starting XI again, unless he improves drastically.
Our back four weren't really up to it with Rio showing more signs that he's finding it difficult to keep playing as well as he did last year. Evans was perhaps the best of the back four and, compared with Wednesday's performance, he wasn't really spectacular either. I thought Nani, Kagawa and Januzaj did really well to attack WBA and tried to service our forwards but our strikers had an off day and couldn't really finish off their chances....not that they had much, to be fair. I thought Rooney's goal, just after WBA had opened the score, would trigger some kind of reaction from our boys but WBA played really well and kept us out of the game.
Although I'm obviously not happy, I won't jump on the Moyes Out bandwagon. While defeats to City and Livepool were somehow acceptable, today's defeat is just not on. It's easy to blame Moyes but in reality we had enough ammo in the starting XI to beat this West Brom side. Our players need to up their game and help their manager during this difficult time. It's obvious people will looks at our team and say that Moyes is the problem because our squad is pretty much Fergie's squad, the same squad which won last year's PL at a canter. But when most of your players have an off day, what is a manager to do? At least, times like these show us who are the real supporters and who aren't. Unfortunately, facebooks groups and fora have been bombarded with negative comments. Ok, it's hard to be positive after such a performance, but calling for Moyes' head is downright ridiculous.
Let's look ahead and hope we can do well against Shaktar. Come on United!
