Aalborg 0 - 3 United
Van der Sar;
Rafael (Brown 66), Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra;
Ronaldo, Scholes (Giggs 16), O'Shea, Nani;
Rooney (Tevez 59), Berbatov
After watching the Celtic game I thought Aalborg were going to provide a bigger threat to United than they actually did, don't get me wrong United's performance today showed that the team is finally gelling and reaching it's full potential, but Aalborg didn't really trouble us. United's goals came from Rooney and a double from Berbatov with the second being a sublime volley.
The win may have come at a cost though, United had Scholes, Rooney and the impressive Rafael replaced because of injury. I'm waiting anxiously to learn the extent of their injuries.
All in all we played good football, Rooney continued his scoring streak and Berbatov finally got his first goals of his United career. I hope many are to follow. Nani, an excellent talent, should train harder to perfect his finishes as well as his crosses. I still thing the young Portugese has a lot of room for development. United could have ended the game in the first half and in the second half Tevez and Nani should have increased the margin, but I'll take the 3 nil scoreline.
Well done to the reds, we're finally reaching our potential.
