We will face much better opponents than Zorya but we won’t play another game is worse conditions so I’d say it was a decent performance by our players. The crowd was hostile the pitch was shit but we still managed to beat the unadventurous Ukrainian team even though some of our players looked like they were playing on ice.

Mkhitaryan scored his first Manchester United goal after a fine run and nutmeg and Ibra put the game to bed with a good finish. I wish we were capable of finishing Premier League games off like we are doing in the cup games.

The game saw the return of Eric Bailly who, in my opinion, put in a man of the match performance. Not that Jones and Rojo didn’t fill Eric’s void well, but it is a relief to see him back. Unfortunately he’ll only be available till mid-January as I believe his National football team is in the African Cup finals. Apart from Bailly, Herrera was also excellent. 

Anyway, I am pleased with the players who made sure we progressed to the next rounds of the Europa League. A bit disappointed with Rooney though. He looked like he was regaining match fitness in recent games but was terrible in this game. 

Tottenham at home next. Nothing but a win will do.
