Hull City 0 - 0 United
Excuse me for this late post but
I’ve been quite busy finishing some assignments as the scholastic year finally
draws to its end. It was curtains for season 14/15 last Sunday when Hull hosted
United in a game that meant very little to us. It was, however, another
scenario for Hull as they had one final shot a saving their Premier League
status. Despite giving their all and going close a few times, Hull couldn’t
find the back of the net and will play in the Championship next season.
Given that United secured top 4
position a fortnight ago and Hull still had one major objective to reach, I expected
a difficult game with very little joy. It was a good opportunity for United to
disappoint me one final time this season when playing away from home. That they
did. Hull were all over us and it was only Valdes’ brilliant saves that won us
a point. Valencia and Jones did well too but the others looked uninterested.
I won’t be dissecting each and
every player’s performance for the sole reason that with so little to play for,
the motivation to play must have been so little. Obviously, that’s not a good
excuse to not turn up for a football game, especially when there are a few
thousand away supporters travelling to see you play. Actually, I wish league
points were based on the performance of away supporters. We would most
definitely run away with the league. The travelling red army has been brilliant
throughout the season and they were equally as impressive in our final game. It’s
a shame our form away from home has been so poor. We dropped 29 points on our
travels. If we manage to right this massive wrong next season, then we’ll be in
with a chance to challenge for the title.
That's it, I will upload a 2014/15 season and player review soon.
